Shadows are the El-nur that were corrupted by The Nahash. They come in many different forms and levels of power, and their number is unknown.

The creative spark that resides in all creatures that are/were created by El and the El-nur.

The El-nur are the original creations of El, created to be witnesses to all other creations, to help him rule and govern. Many were corrupted by The Nahash though and became The Shadows The El-nur come in many different forms and levels of power.

El is the supreme being of the universe, creator of all existence. He is “The One”, “The Primary”, “The Name”, “The Creator”, “The Mother”, "Ong Saksit Soong Sut" and countless other known and unknown names throughout the cosmos.
